We now have a registered psychologist on board. David Sereda, brings a wealth of experience in pediatric counseling and therapy spanning decades. He is happy to see adults as well. Highlights of his experience include:

• 25+ years experience working in child and adolescent mental health.

•  9+ years experience working in hospital settings, including 5+ years conducting complex inpatient diagnostic assessments at the Foothills Hospital , Alberta Children's Hospital, and South Health Campus, as well as 2+ years conducting emergency mental health assessments in the ERs of ACH and the Foothills.

• Experience with a wide variety of mental health, developmental, cognitive, and learning assessments (ADHD, Autism, IQ/Learning Disorder, Mood Disorders, Early Psychosis, Personality, and many others).

• Ability, knowledge, and experience with working in close collaboration with physicians of many specialities (psychiatry, paediatrics, emergency medicine, family medicine, neurology), along with a variety of other allied health professionals including social workers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, recreational therapists, nurses, pharmacists, not to mention teachers and educators.

• 6+ years working in schools and school board settings, including private schools for gifted children and ones for children with developmental delays as well as large school boards.

• Conducted numerous assessments for Child and Family Services including parenting assessments, and worked in high conflict separation and divorce cases.

• Have been qualified multiple times as an expert witness in the fields of psychology and child development and provided testimony in the Court of Queen's Bench in Alberta.

• Trained extensively in play therapy and solution focused therapy models.

• Taught psychological assessment at the graduate level, and conducted public workshops and presentations on a variety of topics on psychological assessment and issues impacting children.

 

Please, note this service is not covered under Alberta Health, and involves out-of-pocket payment. Some third party insurance and extended health benefits cover this service. We do not do direct billing as of yet to third party insurance. You will be required to pay upfront, and you will be issued with a receipt which you may use to claim the expense from your insurance company. A referral is not required for this service. Simply call our office to be scheduled. David works on late evenings and weekend as well.
